On the afternoon of March 5, the captain of Hathras district basketball team and a high school student was beaten severely with sticks by some students over some issue and injured by hitting a brick on his head. After this the accused ran away. A complaint has been lodged at Kotwali Hathras Gate regarding the incident. The police got the injured medically examined in the emergency of Bagla District Hospital.
Soumya Pratap Singh, son of Dheeraj Singh, resident of Naval Nagar, Aligarh Road of the city, is a student of class ten in Rajendra Lohia Vidya Mandir of the city. He is also the captain of the district basketball team. On the afternoon of March 5, he was going to a friend of his living on Aligarh Road in the city after playing basketball from school. It is alleged that then some youths riding on three bikes reached there near the Mandi Committee located on Aligarh Road. It is said that the youth was a student of an inter college located on Aligarh Road in the city. Soumya alleges that as soon as the youth riding the bike arrived, they abused him and started beating him.
When he ran towards the Mandi Committee premises to save his life, these youths reached here also. These youth beat him with sticks. It is alleged that these youths also attacked him on his head with a brick, due to which he suffered serious head injury. After beating, the accused youth ran away from there. The victim immediately informed the Kotwali Hathras Gate police about this. A complaint has been lodged at Kotwali Hathras Gate regarding the incident. The police got the injured medically examined at Bagla District Hospital. Based on the complaint, investigation into the case has been started.
